Director
Professor Nigel Stocks is a general practitioner and Professor of General Practice at the University of Adelaide. He has led ASPREN for over two decades and is a recognised leader in primary care research.  As Director of ASPREN, he provides strategic leadership, guiding the network’s role in national surveillance and ensuring its relevance to general practice and public health policy.

Assistant Director – Research
Associate Professor Sheena Sullivan is an epidemiologist and internationally recognised expert in influenza vaccine effectiveness. She has led numerous studies developing and applying improved statistical approaches to strengthen test-negative design methods and has contributed to national and global influenza surveillance and vaccination initiatives, including work that informs the World Health Organisation vaccine strain selection and policy recommendations.

Program Manager
Monique Chilver is a program manager and PhD candidate at Adelaide University, specialising in sentinel surveillance and pandemic preparedness. She leads the operational delivery of ASPREN, coordinating national surveillance activities and reporting to stakeholders. Her research focuses on improving the utility of general practice data for influenza surveillance and public health response.

Biostatistician
Zahra Ashani provides statistical expertise across ASPREN’s surveillance and research activities. She supports data analysis, interpretation, and reporting, helping translate complex data into meaningful public health insights.

Recruitment and Engagement Officer
Kelly Harper leads GP recruitment and engagement for ASPREN. She works closely with practices across Australia to support participation, strengthen relationships, and ensure ongoing representativeness across Australia.

Quality Control and Data Officer
Daniel Blakeley is responsible for data quality and integrity within ASPREN. He manages data entry and monitors reporting completeness, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of surveillance data used in national reporting and research outputs.

Project Officer
Lana Allen supports the operational delivery of ASPREN, including administration, finance coordination, and project support. She plays a key role in keeping the program running smoothly behind the scenes.
