Partners & Collaborators

ASPREN works with a wide range of partners to ensure the information we collect is used where it matters most.
We collaborate with:

• The World Health Organisation, including:
• The World Health Organisation Collaborating Centre for Reference and Research on Influenza (WHO-CCRRI), which helps analyse and understand circulating influenza viruses;
• The Global Influenza Vaccine Effectiveness (GIVE) collaboration, which monitors how well the influenza vaccine is working worldwide;
• The Global Influenza Surveillance and Response System (GISRS), the WHO global influenza surveillance network;
• The Australian Centre for Disease Control, which uses ASPREN data to support national public health reporting and decisions;
• The National Respiratory Infections Surveillance Committee (NRISC), where ASPREN contributes regular data updates for situational awareness;
• State and territory health departments, supporting local responses and planning;
• Primary Health Networks, who help connect ASPREN with general practices;
• External research groups, who collaborate with ASPREN (with approval) on a range of applied research projects to improve how respiratory illnesses are detected, monitored, and managed through general practice surveillance; and
• Participating general practices across Australia, whose participation makes this work possible!

Together, these partnerships ensure ASPREN’s work contributes to both local community health and global disease monitoring.
