• Strengthen national surveillance: ASPREN data feed into respiratory surveillance reports produced by the Australian Centre for Disease Control, supporting timely and evidence-based public health responses
• Improve vaccine effectiveness estimates: Your data contribute to the Global Influenza Vaccine Effectiveness (GIVE) collaboration, helping assess how well influenza vaccines work each year and informing improvements—particularly for higher-risk groups, such as older adults
• Monitor circulating viruses: Laboratory testing helps identify which influenza strains are circulating, how well they match current vaccines, and whether they remain sensitive to antiviral treatments
